Our Commitment to you is to help you gain a level 2 qualification in Engineering Maintenance within a 18 month contract.

Hours of work will be 37.5 hours per weekAs part of the apprentice scheme you will have study days which will be discussed at the recruitment day.We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can work as part of a team and on their own initiative to join our busy team of medical device maintenance technicians / medical equipment library.You will also be trained to maintain and repair a range of simple medical devices used across the hospital.To join us you will need to be reliable, flexible and highly motivated with good technical, written and verbal communication skills.

Full training will be given.On completion of the scheme, there is potential for recruitment as a permanent band 2 within the service to enable the successful candidate to continue their training and development.

Main duties of the job
This post is to be 50% in the Clinical Engineering workshop and 50% in the Medical Equipment Library at Glenfield Hospital.
Medical Equipment Library

Delivery / Collection / Cleaning of medical equipment
Clinical Engineering Workshop

Maintaining/repairing a wide range of Electro/Mechanical Medical devices,
Commissioning and decommissioning new and redundant medical devices.
