Band B – Deputy Head of Clinical Engineering (Clinical Engineering Expert)
The Deputy Head of Clinical Engineering/Clinical Engineering Expert has a leadership and management responsibility for the on-going development of a high quality Clinical Engineering service.
Implicit in the role is the provision of specialist expertise and advice for a wide range of highly complex medical equipment used for the examination, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
The post-holder is a key leader in the challenge to improve the profile of Clinical Engineering, providing expertise to senior management groups within the trust.
The post-holder line manages the workshop leads on the trust’s 3 main sites, providing clinical technical and professional leadership at a strategic level, ensuring the medical equipment management and maintenance services meets the needs of the trust.
It is essential for the post-holder to work effectively with professionals from a wide range of disciplines with knowledge and understanding as the trust develops and implements its Sustainability Transformation Plan.
The post is firmly based in supporting the wide-ranging clinical services for the ultimate benefit of patients. Part of this work is to pro-actively identify upcoming medical equipment replacement requirements and pro-actively contribute to the trusts’ transformation plans.
