Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 320,000 people. Medical Electronics Engineer (EBME)

Salary: Grade E

Hours: 37½ hours per week

The Medical Engineering Department (EBME) has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Electronics Engineer.

The Medical Engineering department is part of iFM Bolton which is a wholly owned subsidiary company of the Royal Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. The Medical Engineering department provides a full asset management service to the Trust, this includes full involvement in the life cycle of medical equipment from trial/evaluation to procurement, commissioning to disposal, planned and corrective maintenance service. We also have complete involvement in incident investigations relating to medical devices and we implement SABS/FSN/FCOs.

We are a dynamic service and our team is made up of a variety of expert individuals each bringing with them unique skills and specialities.

The post holder will be responsible to the EBME Manager and will have knowledge and experience of practical electronics, including repair and maintenance techniques and experience of fault finding and the use of dedicated test equipment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivating with good time management skills and hold a degree or equivalent qualification and experience in electronic engineering.

You will be based at the Royal Bolton Hospital, but will also be required to undertake work for our external clients.
